Research and Planning: The making of my magazine

This is the first basic start of my double page spread. The text has been inserted but the font and specific colour hasn't been chosen. This is just a basic outline to go off in future lessons.

The same applies for my contents page. The jist of what I want the basic idea of it to look like has been started... I just need to add to that.

Before I finished for Christmas I took 2 more print screens of my work. 

 As you can see here I have added a star effect in the background on here to make it not look as plain and simple. Most of my stories are there now but it's just a matter of the pictures. I have Josh's on there already as you can see. I'm taking the ones with my friend Claire in the holidays and Sally's rock out ones and Careys as soon as we get back from Christmas.

This is coming along really well I think. I just need to get a couple of the rocking out pictures on there from in the recording studio.

 

I have enlarged these pictures so far to show the detail and what I have changed since last time. Since my photo's had been taken of Claire I wanted to make sure one was added as soon as possible onto my magazine. I rearranged a few bits and added some extra writing to fill any blank spaces. Something I think I will struggle with is putting the pictures of Carey on..I'm thinking of doing 3 shots vertically like the image shown beneathe.

The above image doesnt appear to have changed very much but I have put a slight edge to the right hand side to ensure that there is as little blank space as possible. I also have included a skull and cross bone sign underneath although you can't see it very well so I will make sure I turn the opacity up.

Research and Planning: More Photo's: Sally And Josh

The above pictures have turned out really well personally. The lighting was really good and I like how I've tried different shot types. For example at the beginning I focused on mid close ups and then i moved onto medium long shots. I also tried, on some images, using a low angle to make him look more dominating.

The same applies for these images of Sally. I think in these images, she looks a lot more vulnerable and a lot different than you would expect.

 This wall could be very useful as it shows purity corresponding with my artist.

 Here I took my teacher looking very vunerable. With having a shot that is head on makes it more effective since you can see her expressions more.

 The same applies with this image.

 I like the effect of the stair case on here as well because it gives a trapped affect. I like the idea that the shot isn't really close but you can still see the facial expressions.

 I think that this shot is way to far away.

I like the low angle with this photo to show domination.

I will include a Album cover of Sally Lowe on my double page spread. This is the final design. The impression i wanted to give was that it was similar to the interview I was including...making her look vunerable and as though it was more calm and more herself.

The problem with these pictures are that they dont have Sally front on. Therefore the poses don't look strong enough. I will make plans further on in the week to take more pictures.
