Research and Planning: Double Page Analysis
The story talks about a well known artist Lily Allen and asks questions about her life in general.
The Language used is in between formal and slang. But the way that the copy is presented makes it look more informal. The words in the title of the interview are simple aren't complex.
The Layout is quite simple. The copy is in columns at the bottom of the page and the image and title take up most of the article to make it look eye catching,
The Genre of this double page spread is rock/punk. You can tell this because of the font style used and with it being in black and white; which are well known rocky colours. Also you can tell from the costume Lily Allen is wearing.
The image of Lily Allen is a medium long shot but is a large size which makes it still easy to be able to see the detailed facial features of her. By wearing black and white and in addition, her clothing being checkered, it gives her clothes a more crowded, rock/punk look which compares with the genre of music that the magazine specifies in. This image is also good and effective as the colours co-ordinate with the writing in the article. By doing this, it makes the whole page look more professional and fun to read.
The Copy size at the top of the page is very large and with the effective style of writing, makes it stand out a lot more. Contrasting with this the writing that's used in the actual interview/article is very small, and on the image I've used, you can't read because its that small. This could be a problem for some users.
I think that this double page spread associates with it's target audience because it gives rock lovers the opportunity to read about the lifestyle of a punk/rocky artist. The colours used play a big part of making it stand out and stereotyped as being a rock magazine.
